I wanted to do a story on a dancer and the hard work she puts in preparing for "The Nutcracker" ballet. Civic Dance Center owner Cindy Trueblood recommended Alicia Angelini, whom I photographed several times over a few weeks. I was impressed with how the younger dancers looked up to her and how she helped them. This shot was during rehearsal for the Sugar Plum dance in which the little girls portray angels. This shot actually didn't make it into the paper. I had another from the same shoot that worked better with the package (it showed action), but when I picked the shots for the online gallery, this was the first one I chose.
